Trattoria Pizzeria da Gino alla Villetta
About This Spot
Hidden away in a quiet corner of Trastevere, Trattoria Pizzeria da Gino alla Villetta invites you into a world that feels both timeless and warmly familiar. Here, the pace slows just enough to savor each moment — a perfect balance between the lively spirit of Roman streets and the calm intimacy of a neighborhood gathering spot. The modest façade along Vicolo del Buco gives little away, but once inside or seated al fresco, you’re quietly embraced by the hum of genuine Italian life.
The atmosphere is quietly inviting, with a subtle buzz of convivial chatter that never overpowers the gentle clinking of glasses. It’s the kind of place where locals and visitors alike settle in, unhurried, greeted by smiles and a service that feels like a welcome rather than a formality. Whether lingering over a glass of house red or sharing a plate of freshly made pasta, the experience is about connection — to the food, the moment, and the enduring Roman tradition reflected in every bite.
Food here is thoughtfully simple yet distinctively Roman, crafted with an eye toward authenticity that shines through in both classic preparations and seasonal touches. From the depth of slow-cooked sauces to the crispness of a wood-fired pizza, every dish has a story rooted in the local terroir and culinary heritage. The occasional murmurs of delight from fellow diners underscore a shared discovery — dishes that comfort, surprise, and invite conversation.
Trattoria Pizzeria da Gino alla Villetta is not a stage for grand gestures but a quiet celebration of everyday pleasures: fresh ingredients, honest cooking, and the pleasure of company. It’s a place best discovered with an open appetite for both food and the subtle rhythms of Roman trattoria life.

Such a great find! This restaurant was so delicious, tucked back off of a main road in Trastevere, they have delicious food, kind service, and the authenticity you’re looking for! We had the house red wine which was amazing and very affordable. We also had bruschetta, a salad, and eggplant Parmesan which was to die for! We could tell they cooked it just for us fresh in the kitchen! I would highly recommend this as a stop, we didn’t have to wait, their prices are affordable, and food is top notch!

Good staying, Menu was full of nice choices, the focaccia with figs and burrata very good; tonnarelli cacio e pepe, very tasty. Price fair with the other restaurants of the area. You can eat outside and inside

We found this place next to our accommodation, and it was the best food we had in Rome. So authentic and so delicious! I can highly recommend it!

Came across this lovely trattoria in Trastevere while walking through the area. My wife and I decided to stop for dinner since it looked really authentic. The food was absolutely delicious! We had the Pizza Bufala & Pachino, Penne All' Arrabbiata & Tiramisù for dessert - everything was incredible and authentic! The prices are also outstanding and excellent value - cheaper than most restaurants and they don't charge the usual "coperto" or the "10% service charge" which many restaurants seem to be doing - the bread is also free which so many charge for now days! We highly recommend this restaurant for the delicious food, great value and lovely authentic local atmosphere - we will definitely be back again!

One of the best places we have been throughout our 6 days Rome visit. The “Redwine of the house” was SO DELICIOUS! Cozy street - without tons of tourist. A simple menucard. Tasteful food and very kind staff. We had 2 x Bruchettas, a carbonara and a ravioli, 1/4 L Wine, sparkling water, and a Limoncello gelato dessert. Everything for around 52€. Very fair prices - the best food so far - and on a silent sidestreet away from the tourist traps. LOVED IT!

Loved this from beginning to end. Very quiet patio. Nice servers. Very good food. Good prices. Steak was outstanding as was the “veal tail pasta” which is much more delicious than it sounds. Caprese salad is only ok.
